ABSTRACT


We will address general issues relating to evaluating teaching as well as review the steps involved in developing a departmental plan. This will be a forum for discussion of department-specific concerns and priorities. Multiple modes for evaluating teaching will be discussed. Beyond student ratings, how may teaching be evaluated? We will offer tools and suggestions for getting and using evaluative data both for improving teaching and for documenting teaching for administrative review. Using peer observation in summative and formative evaluation will also be covered.
