README for Icon "historic" directory

This directory contains source packages for past versions of Icon.  
All have been converted to compressed (gzipped) tar files.

Some older packages are for particular platforms (e.g. VAX/VMS) and do
not contain all the configurations of the master copy of that time.
Some are incomplete in other ways.  Some include the Icon Program Library
and some do not.

Version numbers are indicated by the file names.  Time stamps of the
tar files show best guesses about content dates.

v???.htm files, where present, are the corresponding release notes.
