Version 9.4.3 of Icon

This release of Icon has been superseded.

Version 9.4.3 of Icon is available in source and binary form. This is a maintenance release of version 9.4 containing updates to the configurations and the library. For more details, see the release notes.

This version of Icon runs on Unix systems, including the Darwin environment of the Macintosh. For Microsoft Windows, you must either install the Cygwin environment to use this version of Icon or instead install Version 9.3.2 of Icon. The version 9.4.3 library is available separately if you do that.

Documentation is on line:

Executable Unix Binaries

Precompiled binaries are available for the Unix systems listed below. These binaries are built with graphics enabled, so the X Window system must be present on the target platform. Each package includes the translator, interpreter, interface builder, and library procedures. To install Icon from binaries,

  1. Download the correct tar file for your system.
  2. Unpack it to produce an icon.v943 directory.
  3. Follow the installation instructions.

Binary packages are 1.5 MB gzipped tar files. Unpack by gunzip <file.tgz | tar xf –.

Unix Source Code Package

The source code package is a 3.2 MB gzipped tar file that includes the complete Icon program library. It can be configured for most Unix platforms including Cygwin and Darwin.

Download icon.v943src.tgz.
