TCP Vegas
An implementation of TCP based on the TCP Reno code resulting in higher throughput and fewer losses than TCP Reno. TCP Vegas is described in the JSAC paper and the x-kernel implementation is available here .
A direct execution (executes real protocol code) network simulator based on the x-kernel. Protocols can be executed in the simulator as well as on Internet hosts without modification. There is a basic description of the simulator in the SIGMETRIC '96 paper. The simulator will be made available in the first quarter of 1996.
