Quality Assurance Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for all code pushes to the production environment, 24/7 monitoring as well as quality control of all developed software associated with OWN.com. This role requires a strong knowledge of programming fundamentals, web design and functionality, revision control, web environments and browser specific issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Define, develop and implement quality assurance practices and procedures, test plans and other QA assessments
  • Develop automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts and data set
  • Ensure that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management software
  • Consult with development engineers and product development team to resolve problems
  • Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing
  • Creates effective manual and automated test plans, using a variety of toolsets and automated tools
  • Performs black box testing as required
  • Works collaboratively with development during all stages of projects to provide in process testing results
 
Requirements:
·BS/MS in Computer Science or related field preferred
·4+ years experience as a QA engineer
·Experience with SQL and Perl scripting is a plus
·Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively coordinate development activities with other staff
·Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and manage own time and deliverables
·Excellent analytical and communications skills
·Experience maintaining high-volume, high performance, scalable systems is a big plus
