Officers' Meeting Minutes
October 5, 2000
Meeting opened at 2:17 p.m.
ATTENDANCE
Matthew Johnson, Teena Werley, Eve Tzinas, Andy Lenards.
SHORT TERM GOALS
Matt started out the meeting wanting to determine a list of short and long term goals. The following are some short terms goals suggested by the officers and the responsible party for each
COMMITTEES
Andy Lenards is head of Program Committee outlined by the old bylaws until such time as the Chair will appoint a suitable replacement.
The Coding Competition Staff will be determined in the meeting with Stuart Reges tomorrow.
Teena Werley is the head of the Publicity Committee outlined in the old bylaws. The committee may be reconfigured as the duties are rather dated. (The old charter is from the 1970's.)
A T-shirt committee is needed to create shirts for the members and possibly to sell for funding. Ryan Starks is one known volunteer and others will be determined at the general meeting.
A Webpage committee consisting of Teena Werley*, Matt Ferguson*, Cara Wallace*, J. Matt Peterson, and Steve Kobes will work on the acm webpage.
LONG TERM GOALS
End of the semester social event. (e.g. bowling).
FOUNDERS
In recognition of the efforts of those individuals without whom, there would be no ACM student chapter here at the U of A, may the following outstanding people be recognized as the Founders of the ACM Student Chapter at The University of Arizona 2000. May the be accorded the respect due their position and be cited as a founding member in any relevent historical records of this organization:
Kelly Heffner, Andrew Lenards, Pat Murray, Stuart Reges, Jennifer Sartor, and Teena Werley.
CODING COMPETITION
Matters to bring up in the meeting tomorrow
AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER
Clarification of membership such as "member in good standing" and "full member"
Benefits/Dues clarification. I.e. free T-shirt with payment of dues? membership "application process"?
OPERATIONS
GENERAL MEETING TIME
Due to a conflict with the CS Department's picnic, the Student General Meeting has been moved to Tuesday, October 17, 2000 6:30 p.m. in GS 701
