The University of Arizona
Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Student Chapter
Officers Meeting
October 6, 2000
"The Year of the Monkey!" - Andy Lenards
Meeting opened at 2:15 p.m.
ATTENDANCE
Matt Johnson, Matt Ferguson, "Elvis", Teena Werley, Eve Tzinas, and Andy Lenards. Stuart Reges stopped by to present some current info on the upcoming coding competition.
WEBPAGE
Matt Ferguson presented the specification requirement outline he would like the officers to give him concerning the ACM webpage.
Matt will e-mail the outline to Teena to go over in more detail.
Suggestions for things to put on the webpage:
Teena suggests looking at the Brown's CS website as an example.
The Quick Reference area could potentially be a great asset to all CS students. That being so, what kind of reference material should be available should be asked at the next general meeting.
Matt would also like recognition for the designers working on the website.
OPERATIONS
Teena will send out e-mail ASAP about change in meeting time since the CS Dept's picnic is at the same time as the regular meeting.
Matt F. suggested that a student representative in every CS class be appointed to make announcements.
CODING COMPETITION
Stuart stopped by to confirm the use of the Harvill lab for the coding competition. We agreed that because of the overhead projector to show the timing and scores among other things, the Harvill lab was best.
Stuart obtained clarification from the Regional ACM Contest Director, Kenneth Anderson, details about the platforms and languages available.
CALENDAR
