CHARTER AND BYLAWS

All officers will look at the sample bylaws provided by the national ACM organization and make suggestions for changes.

Andy suggested that we submit at the next officer's meeting a list of changes each officer would like to make as what to delete and include. Officers will collaborate on the bylaws November 2nd.

The draft from this meeting will need to be finalized with Stuart Reges

OPERATIONS

Activities that need to be planned and presented at the general meeting

• Coding Competition Congratulations and encouragement for participation in the WICS (Women in Computer Science) competition in the spring
• Presentation from Industry - speakers from various local IT companies such as Running Start, IBM, Ephibian, NewMonics, Rincon, etc.
• A social activity such as bowling
• Fundraising activities
• Philanthropic activities - volunteering in computer science education in schools, Habitat for Humanity etc.
• T-shirts

Pat suggested that we have a PR person in charge of making announcements and promotions. This is similar to what Matt Ferguson suggested at a previous officers meeting of having a person make announcements in each class. We are allowed to put flyers in faculty boxes in hopes that they will announce activities in class

DUES AND T-SHIRTS

Eve - We can't sell t-shirts "for profit" however we can "give" a t-shirt with a membership.

T-shirts need to be made before we can collect dues.

BROCHURES

Pat suggested that we make brochures describing what ACM student chapter is and does for recruitment purposes and presentations
