Software and Tutorials
- Getting Oriented on a Macintosh (Mac OS) -- A brief (3-page) introduction to using the Macs in the GS 228 lab.
- Installing Java. Java 7 and DrJava are installed in our labs (GS 228 and GS 930). You can do all of your programming assignments in this class on the computers in those labs. If you prefer to do your programming on your own desktop or laptop computer, running Windows, MacOS, or Linux, you'll have to install the software yourself. Princeton University provides instructions and installation programs on these pages: Windows, Mac, and Linux.
- VIDEO -- Using WinSCP and PuTTY (Windows) -- For you Windows users. WinSCP can copy files from your PC to lectura. Then, use PuTTY to open a terminal window on lectura and run 'turnin' to submit the files for grading. Note that I created that video for CSc 227 in 2014. The basic instructions are still good, though.
- VIDEO -- Using SFTP, Fugu and SSH (Mac OS) -- Spring 2015's 127A Head SL, Jason Harris, created this 10 minute video to show Mac users how to upload and submit your programming assignments. Jason's graduated, but his voice lives on!
