Writing an MP to Run Under an MC or Stand-Alone

• even if an MP is intended to run under an MC, it is useful for it also to be able to run stand-alone -- for example, for testing:

• the rules to follow depend, of course, on the MC
• for vc, the following apply:

use EvInit() in the standard way

if the MP requires access to the SP itself, declare the global variable EventSource and use the value vc supplies for it (&eventsource in the MP is vc)

if appropriate, declare the global variable Visualization and assign the visualization window to it

• in terms of design, decide which of the services vc offers should also be provided for stand-alone usage (note that duplication of services may cause problems when the MP is run under vc)
