Towards a Smarter Wireless Sensor Networks, UAVs and Smartphones: Our Experiences in Sao Paulo, Brazil

This talk will summarize the work led by Dr. Jo Ueyama in the field of wireless networks at ICMC/USP (University of Sao Paulo, Brazil). The focus of this presentation will be to show the progress achieved on our prototype in wireless sensor networks (WSN) for urban river monitoring. Dr. Ueyama supervises several graduate students in various topics in the field of wireless networks. This includes smart grids, the use of UAVs (and wireless sensor networks) for precision agriculture as well as HCI for smartphones targeted to the elderly public. The key question of our group is: how can we provide a smarter WSN, UAV and smartphone? The talk will include a summary of each line of research.
