Mats Björkman
Mats Björkman is a visiting Research Associate in the Network Systems Research Group at the Department of Computer Science at the University of Arizona. His home department is the Department of Computer Systems at Uppsala University, Sweden. When in Sweden, he is also a member of the High Performance Communication Systems group at the Swedish Institute of Computer Science.
Mats research interests are within the fields of High Performance Communication, mainly in the areas where the communication subsystem meets the operating system. His current research activities include using message-passing multiprocessor systems for communication protocol processing. In this activity, the Intel Paragon multiprocessor system is used as implementation environment. Other research interests include using shared-memory multiprocessors for high performance protocol processing, efficient communication timer handling and various aspects of distributed systems.
He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from Uppsala University, Sweden. He is a member of the ACM.
