Overview of Installation
This is a temporal subsystem package providing transaction time support for BerkeleyDB. Due to the modularized design of the package, installation is very easy and secure.
First, you need to download and setup the source tree for BerkeleyDB 3.2.9. Then you download our temporal subsystem package and install it upon the original BerkeleyDB source tree. For installation guide on Unix, see Install on Unix.
The temporal subsystem package contains a copy of the files that the temporal subsystem modified from the original BerkeleyDB and files that are introduced by the temporal subsystem. When installing the temporal subsystem (actually applying changes to the original BerkeleyDB source tree), the files in the original BerkeleyDB source tree that are going to be changed will first be backedup for later possible uninstallation. After installing the temporal subsystem, you can always type commands "make uninstall" under the temporal BerkeleyDB package to uninstall the temporal subsystem. It will uninstall by copying all the backup files back into the BerkeleyDB source tree and overwrite the temporal files, so that the original BerkeleyDB source tree is restored.
You can find the limitations of the current version of tBDB from here.
