Python and IDLE come packaged together so you will only need to install one piece of software.
We will be using Python 3 this semester. Macs come with python pre-installed. Unfortunately, it is the wrong version of Python. Therefore, if you have a mac, you will still need to install. This is also true of some versions of Linux.
If you encounter problems trying to set up Python, contact Allison for help and suggestions.
- Go to the Python download page
- Click the yellow "Download Python" link. A file will start to download.
- Once the file is finished downloading, run the program to install Python.
