Westbrook Chosen as Local Chair for 2009 Grace Hopper Conference

Suzanne Westbrook has agreed to serve as the Local Chair for the 2009 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference to be held September 30 - October 3, 2009, at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort. This will be a great opportunity to showcase the Department of Computer Science and the University of Arizona while offering our women students the chance to network with leaders in academia and industry. The conference is growing each year - the 2008 conference brought together a record 1447 attendees and 301 speakers gathered from 22 countries in Keystone, CO. Suzanne is also working with the national Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA) to provide a workshop at the conference on computer science issues in K12 for Arizona teachers.
