Algorithms for Boundary Labeling
Abstract: I will present an overview over recent work on map labeling
with emphasis on labeling with leaders. The labels are assumed to be placed on the boundary of the map while they are connected to the corresponding graphical features by polygonal lines, the so-called leaders. Starting from a very simple model with an almost trivial algorithm, various extensions of this model will be discussed. I will sketch corresponding algorithms and examples for different applications.
